Queens of the Stone Age have canceled their European tour to allow Josh Homme to fly home for emergency surgery. The band did not reveal the nature of the surgery, but Homme disclosed, in 2023, that he had undergone successful treatment for cancer. In a statement, the band said, this morning (July 9), “QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery. Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.”

Queens of the Stone Age released their latest album, In Times New Roman..., last July. Their scheduled North American dates this fall were not among the initial list of cancellations.
