Reacher star's new movie lands infamous 0% Rotten Tomatoes rating
Reacher star Willa Fitzgerald's new movie Alarum has landed an infamous 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The actor, who played Roscoe Conklin in season 1 of Reacher and played the lead in MTV's Scream series, stars in the action-thriller alongside Sylvester Stallone, Fast X's Scott Eastwood, and Luke Cage's Mike Colter.
It focuses on a married couple (Fitzgerald and Eastwood) who are secretly special agents who live off-grid. Their peaceful life is threatened when rival groups descend upon their getaway cabin, looking for a mysterious hard drive.

At the time of writing, none of the 15 collated reviews for the film — which came straight-to-streaming with a limited cinema release in the US — are positive, leading to the 0% rating.
Common criticisms of Alarum are that it's a low-budget affair with generic-looking action sequences, combined with a bland script and an uninspired performance from Stallone.

"Michael Polish's film gamely tries to compensate for unspectacular production values with a lot of action — but its staging is pedestrian at best. Alexander Vesha's script never convinces, and the competent actors fail to spark."

"In different hands and with a little more refinement and direction, Alarum could have been and done so much more. What we get instead is a film that is laughably bad at times, with acting that is rigid, wooden, and senseless throughout.
"This is particularly true of scenes where characters act out their deaths in a manner that appears more like someone stumbling out of a bar after having one too many drinks."

"Twists, betrayals, and various organizations are common elements of projects about spycraft, but here the development is difficult to follow almost as a rule. Characters turn on each other at a moment's notice, always on behalf of under-defined organizations with opaque goals.
"Their inadequate development makes the plot difficult to pin down (it's best just to go with it), but it also limits our understanding of the characters. Similarly, the action set pieces are a mixed bag. Sometimes hard-to-follow fights take place in barren, boring forests, or an under-decorated room of a nondescript house."
Alarum is out now on demand and select cinemas in the US. A UK release date has not been announced yet.
