Dolores Catania and Margaret Josephs are hoping people can feel less shame with their decision to take weight loss injections.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars spoke to Sherri Shepherd — during the May 2 episode of her self-titled talk show Sherri — and discussed taking Ozempic, an FDA-approved prescription medication for people with type 2 diabetes.

It's one of the brand names for semaglutide — also known as Wegovy — which works in the brain to impact satiety. Over the past year, it has become very popular for weight loss, both in and out of Hollywood.

Shepherd, 57, admitted that a lot of celebrities are quiet about taking the medications.

“I don’t know why because there’s no shame in it,” Catania, 53, said. “If a doctor gives it to you, if you’re doing things right, you’re becoming healthier by losing weight. It’s a bunch of great things that come along with this.”

“This is my high school weight. I’m not parting with it and I’m gonna be honest because it’s right,” she added.

Meanwhile, Josephs, 57, said she started taking Ozempic because she was struggling with her weight at reaching menopause.

“After menopause, it’s so hard to lose weight. And then you’re shamed for it if you’re heavy,” she explained.

“It shuts off that food noise, my blood work is great,” she boasted. “[Before Ozempic] I couldn’t do anything. It doesn’t matter if I was eating right or exercising so I don’t know why there’s any shame in it if it’s helpful to people.”

Catania then stressed that the costars both have a responsibility to be honest with those who watch their Bravo show. Josephs added that no one should see their weight loss on TV and feel bad about themselves.

“This is not natural,” Josephs said of her appearance. “It takes a village. No one wakes up like this and no one on social media wakes up like that.”

Shepherd said she loves how open the pair are with their fans.
