Sam Champion seemingly can't stop calling himself 'Daddy' on morning news

After simply referring to himself as "Daddy" in February, Champion has graduated to being a "plant daddy."

Weatherman Sam Champion seemingly can't stop calling himself "Daddy" on morning TV, all before the stroke of noon.

The former Dancing With the Stars contestant and Good Morning America  personality referred to himself as "Daddy" on Thursday during a live broadcast of New York City's Eyewitness News Mornings at 10, marking the second time the anchor has done so on the ABC program in under a month.

"So, I'm a plant daddy, but not everybody can keep plants alive," the 62-year-old said during a segment hawking commercial products at a discounted rate. "Our last big deal makes it easy."

Champion went on to highlight an easy-care vegetation set (intended for non-Plant Daddies) before the show went to a commercial.

He previously made headlines in February when the local news teased a segment centering on Marcus Samuelsson's Manhattan restaurant called Metropolis.

"Oh, yes please," Champion said during a voiceover (which you can watch above), while images of Samuelsson's food flashed on screen. "Is there an adult beverage for Daddy?"

Representatives for the local station and Champion did not respond to EW's request for comment at the time.

The broadcast journalist became a beloved weather anchor on GMA, before leaving in 2013 for an on-air spot at The Weather Channel, before landing a permanent weekday anchor gig on New York City airwaves.
