See Mark Consuelos' Dramatic New Look That Had 'Live' Fans Completely Stunned

The TV personality isn't one to surprise his fans very often while hosting Live With Kelly and Mark. But when he appeared on the July 1 episode of the ABC morning show, Mark shocked audience members by debuting a dramatic new hair transformation. Although he's known to have a sleek look for daytime television, the actor showed off a different side with a crew cut that was cropped close to his head. What's more, Mark knew folks would react to the change, which he addressed on camera.
"Do not adjust your TV screens," he began in a clip posted on Instagram. "Yes, I got my hair cut!... I do this every couple of years. I've been doing it since we got married."
While it may seem like a sudden change, Mark explained the reason behind why he cut his hair. As his wife and co-host Kelly Ripa prompted him, the actor noted he actually made the switch-up for a potential new job.
"I got a TV job, in a pilot," he added. "They said, 'Can you cut it short?' I go, 'How short?' They said, 'You know, like when you do it... go military.'"
Upon seeing the new look for the first time, fans couldn't get over how different Mark looked on-screen.
"So handsome! Love your haircut. 👍❤️," one person wrote in the Instagram comments. "Summer cut! Looks great!" another agreed. "Looks good, makes him look younger and a fresh cut for the summer," a different follower added.
While it will likely be a while before we get to see what project Mark is working on, he's already taken his new look on vacation. While on a getaway to Geneva, Switzerland in late June, he showed off the fresh cut while jet-setting on the European seas.
"Swiss life🇨🇭merci beaucoup Geneva!" he wrote on Instagram on June 30.
