Both Edmonton and Calgary were included in the warning at 5:15 p.m, but the warning ended for both cities shortly after 6 p.m. The area covered a line of communities stretching north of Edmonton to south of Calgary, as some areas east of the two largest cities.

As of 9:45 p.m., all the warnings in Alberta had ended though some communities still had severe thunderstorm watches in effect.
