Shantel VanSanten and Victor Webster have finalized the terms of their divorce.

In court documents filed on July 1 and obtained by PEOPLE, the former couple have come to an agreement when it comes to splitting their assets — and it includes an expensive custody clause surrounding their dog Nova.

The Hallmark actor, 51, has been granted sole ownership of the pet but VanSanten, 38, will be able to visit the dog for an extended period of time.

While Nova is in the One Tree Hill star's care, she will be required to share the dog's location. If VanSanten takes the dog for longer than three weeks, she'll be mandated to pay a $10,000 fine for every day she's late to return the pet.

In addition to Nova, the former couple also share custody of two cats, Finnegan and Phillippa. The felines will be cared for by Webster's brother, Vince, and VanSanten will pay Vince $1,500 per year (or $750 per cat) as long as both cats remain alive and under his care.

The documents also states that VanSanten and Webster will sell their Los Angeles home and split the proceeds. While neither will receive spousal support, VanSanten has been ordered to pay Webster $25,000 to equalize their divorce.

After the paperwork was filed, both VanSanten and Webster turned to social media to seemingly address their split.

On July 1, VanSanten shared a quote about letting go on her Instagram Story. It read, in part: "Let go. Don't allow yourself to get comfortable existing in spaces where you know you deserve better. Love is not meant to hurt. Love is not meant to be given in the bare minimum... There is power in letting go of anything that is forcing you to let go of yourself. Don't ignore what you know in your heart."

Then, on his Instagram Story on July 2, Webster reposted a different quote that read, "Once you grow up, you realize you don't want to be crazy in love. You want to be calm in love, stable in love, patient in love, understood in love, safe in love. Your partner should give you peace of mind and reassurance, not constant little heart attacks and high anxiety."

In April 2023, PEOPLE reported that the former couple filed for divorce in January of the same year. Two months later, VanSanten responded to the ex-husband's filing and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of their split.

The filing stated the pair “are in mediation and any issues regarding spousal support will be determined” through that process.

The divorce came close to a year and a half after the pair enjoyed a trio of wedding celebrations in 2021, beginning with an intimate and impromptu civil ceremony outside the Pasadena City Hall in California on Aug. 9 — her grandparents' wedding date, according to Brides.

The second celebration took place in October in Napa, California, and the third in her hometown of Luverne, Minnesota so her elderly family could attend.
