Shirley MacLaine, born April 24, 1934, is an Oscar-winning American actress who rose to prominence in the 1950s and ’60s with films such as “The Apartment,” “Ask Any Girl” and “Ocean’s Eleven,” among others. She won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 1984 for her performance in “Terms of Endearment.” Throughout her illustrious, decorated career, the movie star has maintained a unique sense of style and a confidence all her own.

By the 2010s, MacLaine became more selective of her acting work, starring in a film or TV series roughly once each year. She’s maintained public appearances and after an incredible career has earned several honors and awards including the receipt of a Kennedy Center Honor in 2013.
