Superstar Lana Del Ray came for Italian food in this SC city and fans noticed. Here’s where

It’s not every day a superstar walks down the street in Greenville’s West End and eats dinner at the Italian restaurant Jianna, especially on a weeknight.

So quite a crowd gathered when people realized Lana Del Ray was in Greenville Wednesday. (A fan site said she was attending a funeral but didn’t say whose.)

There was even the owner of a saucy red Corvette who wanted her to sign it. And she did amid applause and shouts of “Let’s go baby.” The owner offered a ride, but settled for a hug.

She also signed autographs and posed for photos as she walked down the street.

One person writing on Thread, lanaslivinglegends, said, “So iconic and such a vibe,” adding, “She looks so beautiful and bubbly as always, so sweet “

Del Rey, who Rolling Stone named one of the greatest 200 singers of all time, is especially popular with Gen Z for her music with themes such as tragic romance and references to contemporary pop culture.

Her breakout song was Video Games in 2011. Since then she has won three MTV Europe Music Awards, two Brit Awards, a Satellite Award and nine GAFFA Awards and been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.

She’s also friends with Taylor Swift after meeting her at the 2012 MTV EMAs and collaborated with her on “Snow on the Beach.”

She’s also collaborated with Greenville native Nikki Lane on “Breaking up Slowly” in 2021.
