Third Bristol MP made minister in new government

A third Bristol MP has been made a minister in the new Labour government.

Kerry McCarthy, who has represented Bristol East since 2005, has been given a role in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

She had previously shadowed the role in opposition.

The MP joins Darren Jones and Karin Smyth in the Prime Minister’s frontbench team.
