Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is opening up about her post-prison experience Lifetime’s new docuseries Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up.

After serving eight years in prison for her role in the killing of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, Gypsy-Rose — who was the victim of Munchausen by proxy — was released from prison on Dec. 28, 2023.

The upcoming series serves as a followup to The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard released in January, where Gypsy-Rose gave a candid interview from prison, recounting her mother’s abuse, her role in her mother’s murder and the aftermath of her crimes.

According to a synopsis from Lifetime, the new series serves as a “delayed-coming-of-age story” as Gypsy-Rose reconciles “the pop-culture, celebrity version of herself while trying to forge her brand-new identity in a ‘normal’ world' as 'a free woman.'"

In addition to addressing the media attention surrounding her life, she will also open up about the transitions she's made in her love life, including her divorce from husband Ryan Anderson and reconciling with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker.

“I’d describe the Gypsy-Rose who went into prison as someone who was very lost and confused,” Gypsy-Rose tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Now she’s a little bit more wise, has a little bit more experience under her belt and is still very hopeful for the future.”
