Viral photo portrays a teacher dedicated to students while in labor

A photographer's Facebook post about one of her subjects is sweeping the internet.

Andrea McDonald, who specializes in maternity photography, shared the story of Jennifer Pope, who gave birth on April 23:

Pope is a teacher, and was doing work even in the hospital. "No, she is not doing her taxes. Those papers would be her lesson plans her husband is about to go drop off with her sub in the parking lot," McDonald wrote.

"Also, next week is Teacher Appreciation Week here in Texas. Spoil them rotten because even in labor, they care," she continued. Pope gave birth less than an hour later.

McDonald, through her business Rooted In Love, shared the photo to show Pope's dedication.

Pope spoke to Huffington Post about being a teacher. "To many ― perhaps all ― of us, this is so much more than a job. It's an all encompassing passion," she said.

"It's who we are, fueled by a love for children. Seeing and celebrating the successes of our students is comparable to watching our own children succeed. It really is a remarkable thing."

Pope is also a dedicated mother. According to Huffington Post, she has four children: 9-year-old Boston, 7-year-old Ella Reese, 18-month-old Lennon -- and now weeks-old Clara.

"Being a working mom is hard ― like really hard," Pope told Huffington Post. "But, it's also so rewarding and fulfilling. I can't imagine myself in any other profession."

McDonald's photo of Pope went viral, getting over 7,000 shares and 20,000 reactions.
