Coronation Street's Dylan left horrified by Mason's return

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Dylan Wilson fears for his safety next week as he learns that Mason Radcliffe has been freed.

The Weatherfield teenager expects some serious repercussions following his decision to turn against Mason in court.

Dylan and Mason were accomplices in the bullying of their schoolmate Liam Connor earlier this year.

When Mason stood trial for threatening Liam with a knife, Dylan defied some sinister threats from the villain by testifying against him in court.

Monday's episode (July 8) saw Liam's mum Maria discover that Mason is soon to be released from the Young Offenders centre.

Maria headed to the police station for reassurances that Liam would be protected, although she was distracted when she found her husband Gary there with Sarah Barlow and realised they were keeping secrets from her again.

Next week, Dylan continues his attempts to turn his life around after being derailed by Mason's bad influence at the start of the year.

Dylan asks Stu Carpenter to give him a trial shift at Speed Daal and is thrilled when he agrees.

Mason was put on trial in April after being charged for confronting Liam with a knife.

This was just one incident in Mason's long-running bullying campaign, which saw him backed up by Dylan and other cronies.

Mason was found guilty after Dylan did the right thing by testifying in support of Liam. As this was Mason's second knife crime offence, the judge took a dim view of his actions and imposed a custodial sentence.

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, July 19.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
