This Sacramento restaurant serves some of the best fried chicken in the US, Yelp says

If you’re looking to grab your share of fried chicken to celebrate National Fried Chicken Day on July 6, Yelp has curated a list for the best places to grab a bite in the United States.

Sacramento is well-known for its food scene, seeing as the city landed sixth place as one of the top foodie cities in the country, The Bee previously reported.

This year, Yelp named Sacramento’s own Fixins Soul Kitchen as the seventh best place in the country to eat fried chicken.

According to its website, Fixins Soul Kitchen was founded in Sacramento, but there are two other locations in the U.S., including Los Angeles and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Oak Park native, former NBA All-Star and Mayor of Sacramento Kevin Johnson founded the restaurant to combine his love of Black culture and his wife’s obsession with great food.

Fixins first opened in Sacramento’s Oak Park neighborhood in 2019. Restaurant representatives did not respond to The Bee’s request for comment.

What other restaurants made the list?

The No. 1 spot went to a Georgia restaurant, Kimchi Red in Alpharetta.
