Suki Waterhouse Reveals How Robert Pattinson Feels When She Writes Music About Her Exes: ‘Couldn’t Really Give a S---'

“He’s like, ‘No one’s better than me, so whatever,’” the singer said of Pattinson’s thoughts on her songs about exes in an interview with 'British Vogue'

According to Suki Waterhouse, jealousy is the last thing on fiancé Robert Pattinson’s mind whenever she sings about her exes.

The “Good Looking” singer, 32, revealed her longtime partner’s thoughts on her music in a cover story interview for British Vogue's August issue — and his reaction is actually pretty chill.

“[He has] a lot of humor about that kind of stuff,” Waterhouse shared after being asked if any former boyfriends have been in touch about her musical material. Apparently, English musician Miles Kane — whom Waterhouse dated from 2011 to 2013 — messaged her about one of her latest singles, “My Fun,” calling it “boss.” She also dated actors Bradley Cooper and Diego Luna before finding love with Pattinson.

“He couldn’t really give a s---,” the Daisy Jones & the Six actress continued of the Batman star’s takeaway. “He’s like, ‘No one’s better than me, so whatever.’”

Though she’s happily in love now, Waterhouse said she’s still able to write about heartbreak because “I can get mad for my friends.” She also joked that Pattinson “can still get a s----y song” if need be.

“You can find things to be pissed about,” the singer added.

Waterhouse and Pattinson, 38, have been together for some time now. The pair were first linked in July 2018 following PDA photos, with a source later confirming to PEOPLE that they were indeed an item. Shortly into their relationship, they sparked engagement rumors, which didn’t turn out to be true until an insider told PEOPLE in December 2023 that they were planning on getting married.

“They are engaged,” the source confirmed. “They both want to be married. It’s important for them.”

Fast forward to March this year, the couple welcomed their first child together, a baby girl whose name is not yet known.

In her British Vogue interview, Waterhouse called Pattinson the “dad I could have hoped for” for their daughter, referring to their bond as an “actual love story.”

The "OMG" artist — who’s gearing up to drop her next studio album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, on Friday, Sept. 13 — also shared a bit more about the couple’s low-key romance, saying, "I light up when I’m around him.”
