Devan Ramirez Powell, who led the game 157 yards rushing, added a second touchdown on the night from 31 yards out later in the fourth to seal the win for Haltom.

Haltom’s defense held Keller Central (0-4, 0-1) to just 216 yards of offense and nine first downs.

Midlothian Heritage 38, Burleson 7

It was the Carter Rutenbar show on Thursday night as the quarterback threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead Heritage to a 38-7 win over Burleson.

Rutenbar shook off an interception on his first pass of the night, which allowed Burleson (0-4, 0-1 District 5-5A Division II) to gain an early 7-0 lead.

From there, Rutenbar settled in and the Jaguars (4-0, 1-0) scored 38 straight points and cruised to a district-opening win.

The defense held the Burleson offense in check, allowing just 135 yards, forcing two turnovers and blocking a punt for a score.

Euless Trinity 28, FW Boswell 21

Trinity used 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to rally at home to a 28-21 win over Boswell to open 3-6A play.

Josh Bell, who ran for 124 yards and two scores for Trinity (2-2, 1-0), had the game winning touchdown from nine yards out with 33 seconds left on a drive that started at its own 4 with 1:38 to play.

Bell opened that drive with a 41-yard gain and the game-winning score was set up four plays later by a 39-yard pass from TJ Tupou Jarvis Heimuli.

Boswell (2-1, -01) led 21-14 going into the final frame after it scored on its first two possessions of the third quarter. However, the Trinity defense shut down Boswell’s offense, forcing four punts the rest of the game. Two of those punts came after double-digit play drives.

Boswell’s Collin Dixon led the game with 25 carries for 185 yards and two scores in the loss.

FW All Saints 34, Plano Prestonwood 27

All Saints outscored Plano Prestonwood 20-7 in the second half to pull off a comeback win to remain undefeated.

Prestonwood fumbled the ensuing possession and Watkins rushed in for the go-ahead score midway through the final quarter.

Despite giving up 405 yards of offense, All Saints forced a Prestonwood punt and then forced a fourth turnover to seal the win.

Justin Northwest 45, White Settlement Brewer 7
